Henry V xxx 1945 Olivier's production. I wrote this: "It was an inventive production though it was also troubling to watch as it switched from stage, to outdoors, to table top sets and a sound stage then back to the fake stage ON a sound stage... I preferred the previous production I mentioned, Hamlet since it kept to one setting, but maintain Olivier seems to have understood Shakespeare better than anyone I ever knew about. He keeps the prose AND the poetry and goes MUCH further, experiments with modern theatre techniques, modern film techniques and transcends them in his understanding as an actor, director and producer. Brilliant. I looked up my view of Hamlet and it was 3 years later. Olivier had made serious progress."

I think there are many levels of reality shows, maybe many levels of reality but that part is speculative.

1. first level of reality: News cameras capture something in real time, like CNN showing something happening.

2. second level reality show: News cameras, news readers, capture film, edit it, then show it and comment on it.

3. third level: live interviews with observers of an incident.

4. fourth level of reality: recorded interviews with observers of an incident.

5. fifth level of "reality": cooking shows and the like. They are doing things real people do, cooking...

6. these are faux "reality" shows like Survivor etc. where the cameras DO record the happenings, but these happenings are totally made up. Fear Factor etc. I also place "game shows" and all the court shows like Judge Judy, Dr. Phil and the TV talk shows here...

Well, after all that, I forgot what the point was. Maybe the cooking show. YES. I was going to say, with all the TV I have to watch to fill my day, I am now looking at the TV guide listings for the Food Network. I recorded only one so far, likely won't see it for 3 weeks, about HOT foods. WHEW.
